Active Learning - String Art

This term for Active Learning was String Art. I wanted to do something for my Mum since her Birthday was last Monday well last Month maybe anyway. I had to paint my piece of wood white then light blue once the white had dried. I then drew an Ice block because it was nice and simple and plus my mum loves Ice block's. So I drew an Ice block. Anyway my group for string art was Rilee Me ( Kingsley ) Hazel, Iby, Brydon,Dannelle, Ruby, Jorja,Vasti and Leo.

Athletics

In He puna Pumanawa we did Athletics practice. We did long jump ,vortex, high jumps, shot put, sprints, long distance and Quoits. My favourite is high jump and long distance. I like high jump because the bar goes higher and higher and when it goes higher I like to challenge myself when I am doing it. Then long distance is fun because it makes my legs really strong when I run and it also helps me practice for when it is cross country. This is me doing high jump. Leave a comment about what is your favourite Athletics event you like to do.

CAMP!!!.

On Wednesday He Puna Pumanawa and He Puna Kawenga went to lake Taupo for camp. We went in groups. Each group had a van. When we went outside to get ready Miss Nation would call out our van names. The driver would put all our bag and stuff in the boot. After a while we stopped at the army museum to have morning tea and play and to go toilet. Finally our last stop at the cafe for lunch and had a play for like an hour. We're here everyone YAY!!. here is a photo of camp.

The school water fight.

On Monday we had the biggest water fight ever in school. After morning tea we had to get changed in our togs and line up and walk to the field. We had to listen to the teachers and be quiet. After we had done that we got to go wherever we wanted but not past the pool or at the back by the PE shed.

The seniors were mostly playing on the slip in slide and the water fight. The juniors were mostly playing in the paddling pool and over by the sprinkler and the skipping ropes and that. When Mrs Palmer shook the bell it was time for other kids to move onto the next thing they wanted to. After a while we all went to the field again and sat down and Mrs Palmer said that the water fight has now finished. So everyone lined up with their classes and went back to class to get changed back into their uniform. This is a photo of the water fight.

My Poster

In He Puna Kawenga we have been talking about what you need when you go on a voyaging experience.

To begin with it's important to choose the right group on the voyaging experience. Like a group that won't get sick easily, that is kind and has good ideas and most of all helpful.

We also have been researching and learning about Tuia 250. We had to create a poster of to get people to join our adventure to sail the Pacific Ocean. We had to make sure we had a catchy title, a picture of a boat and add some core

Me and Demi did this together and did a very good job. Here is our poster.

KEEP NZ CLEAN.

At Carlton School we went out of the school gates to pick up dirty and yucky rubbish to help Papatuanuku. We also found smoke butts, bits of paper and bottles, broken glass and wire's. After a while we started to cross busy roads and started to pick up things on the way. We also had to pick rubbish out of the gutters and ugh it was yuck. But I have to say it was really fun picking up watery and yuck sticky rubbish. Oh and Miss Peadly and MB had to carry the rubbish bags all the way to Fitzy's and back to school again.

My Taniwha

In He Puna Kawenga we have been drawing and dying our own Taniwha. We first had to draw it in our art books to practice then show the teacher. If your teacher says yes then you would be on to your good copy and that's  when you get to make it more interesting.  After we had finished drawing our Taniwha we used dye to make it look  colourful and make it stand out more, like our starry night art work.  When we had done dying our Taniwha the teacher would glue it on to this paper that said artist name and age. When you have done that you show the teacher and give it to her  and then your done. This is my Taniwha.

Sailing Te moananui a Kiwa.

In He Puna Kawenga we are learning about Sailing Te Moananui A Kiwa. We also learnt that the navigators cared birds to help guide them. When the birds fly away that means there is a Island. If
the bird go around and around no island is found. They also carried food with them to trade other people for new stuff. Did you know that the sun rise in the east and sets in the west.

Six sentence story.

In He Puna Kawenga we did our own six sentence story. We had to make up our own character and describe it .

Making Slime.

One morning on the weekend I wanted to make slime. "Mum said" you can but don't get glue on the table.  So mum went to the Warehouse to buy the stuff you  need for slime. This is what you need.
What You Do:
  1. In one bowl mix 1 oz. ...
  2. Add ¼ cup of Sodium Tetraborate (Borax) Solution to the glue and water mixture and stir slowly.
  3. The slime will begin to form immediately. ...
  4. Stir as much as you can, then dig in and knead it with your hands until it gets less sticky.  And that is how you make slime my way.  Hopefully it works. This is my slime.Image result for slime
